ABOUT THE AUTHOR:       I am a children's picture book author living in Oak Park, Illinois. I never planned on becoming a writer but am glad I did. Writing is a challenge I willingly embrace. I love creating characters, imagining settings, pondering plots and finding the right words to describe it all. I have a B.A. from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and a master's degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I currently serve as Program Co-Chair for the Illinois chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
